1400035 Air cushion vehicles HOVERMARINE TRANSPORT Ltd 15 Oct 1973 [23 Oct 1972] 48771/72 Heading B7K An air cushion vehicle, in the embodiment a sidewall craft, has a looped rear skirt 9 which, in the region 20, but not elsewhere, adjacent the surface 2 over which the craft operates, is formed with perforations 25. This enables skirt inflation air to escape into the gap 21 between the skirt and surface 2 to cause turbulence in the out-flowing cushion air thereby reducing vertical oscillations of the lower part of the skirt.
