1,245,004. Drying washed vehicles. E. F ENGELBRECHT-SCHNUR, and K. H. LEMMERBROCK, [trading as ENGELBRECHT & LEMMERBROCK]. 8 Oct., 1968 [11 Oct., 1967], No. 47725/68. Heading F4G. A stationary or transportable drying plant for washed vehicles, comprises at least one highpressure blower which receives warm air and which supplies the air via heat exchanger 8 (e.g. heated by oil or gas) to nozzles 4 and 5 for directing the hot air at high speed against the side and top surfaces of the vehicle, respectively. The plant is operated such that the dynamic pressure at the nozzle outlets remains substantially constant with varying rates of vehicles passing through the plant. The temperature of the air blown is between 20‹ and 150‹ C. The air may be preheated on the suction side of the blower. The plant may comprise a muffler 6 on the suction side of the blower and a muffler on the pressure side of the blower to dampen the sound. The drying air may be recycled.
