1,244,877. Basic monoazo dyes. CHEMIEKOMBINAT BITTERFELD VEB. 23 Dec., 1968, No. 61037/68. Heading C4P. The invention comprises basic monoazo dyes of formula wherein R 1 and R 2 are alkyl or cycloalkyl radicals, R 3 and R 4 are alkyl radicals or form together with the N atom a piperidine ring and X is a radical of formula wherein R 5 and R 6 are alkyl groups and R 7 is a H or halogen atom or an alkoxy or CH 3 CONH- group or X is the residue of an enolized keto group containing compound which is free from COOH and S0 3 H groups. The dyes are prepared by azo coupling from diazotized amino-benzamidines and colour polyacrylonitrile fibres in yellow to orange shades.
