Abstract

1,164,230. Disazo pigments. KEWANEE OIL CO. 13 Dec., 1967 [19 Dec., 1966], No. 56668/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises disazo pigments of the formula wherein n is 2, 3 or 4 and (a) Ha is Cl or Br, X is CH 3 or OCH 3 and Y is CH 3 or (b) Ha is Cl or Br, X is OCH 3 and Y is H or CH 3 or (c) Ha is Br, X is CH 3 or OCH 3 and Y is H or CH 3 . They are prepared by diazotizing an appropriately substituted 4-chloro-aniline compound and coupling to a halogenated-p-phenylene-bisacetoacetamide. The pigments are greenish or reddish yellow and do not bleed in acetone, xylene, tetrachloroethylene, dioctylphthalate and methanol.
