Abstract

1,244,122. Pipe cladding. KITSONS INSULATION PRODUCTS Ltd. 26 June, 1969, No. 32387/69. Heading F2P. Pipe cladding for pipe bends comprises first and second sets of collars 7, 1, the collars in each set respectively being provided, at each of their ends, with inwardly and outwardly directed lips 11, 5 so that collars of the first and second sets can be disposed in alternate relation on a pipe 19 with the lips 7 engaging over the lips 5 and allowing the cladding to follow a bend in the pipe. Thermal insulation material such as mineral fibre, or wool, is packed in the space between the pipe and the cladding. The lips 5, 11 may be perpendicular, or inclined slightly outwardly with respect to the cylindrical portions of the collars 1, 7 respectively. The collars 1, 7 have joints 13, 15 the joints 15 being secured by fasteners such as self-tapping screws 17. The collars may be made of metal or plastics material and, when made of plastics, the joints 13, 15 in the collars may be connected by integrally mouldedfasteners.
