Abstract

124,361. Henry, J. S. July 22, 1918. Golf clubs.-Relates to a golf club constructed to allow the angle of the head to be varied. The head A carries a stem B which fits in a socket D on the shank E. A pin C on the head engages a featherway in the socket when the head is adjusted and the stem is drawn into the socket and locked by turning a screw H by means of a lever 1. The socket is slotted as shown at Fig. 2, to allow it to close on the stem, and the screw is cut with a facet to permit removal of the head. The screw engages an hexagonal nut K fitting in a recess so that it can be turned to adjust for wear. A spring dust-cap may be fitted over the rear face of the socket, as shown in Fig. 1. The split part of the socket is filled with rubber or other compressible material, and a case of rubber &c. may be drawn over the socket, nut, &c. to exclude dust.
