Abstract

1,243,409. Reinforced moulds. P-O. STRANDELL. 4 Feb., 1969 [7 Feb., 1968], No. 5890/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B3] A mould 10 has a mould cavity 12 in at least one end surface 11 thereof and a pretensioned reinforcement surrounding the body along at least a part of its length comprising at least one winding of strip material, the whole of the bottom face of each turn of a winding being in abutment with the upper face of the preceding turn. The winding may extend over the whole length 18 of the body with a second winding 19 superimposed over a part of the length which is subjected to greatest stress. Alternatively a winding 22 extends over the part of greatest stress and an insert 20 of the same thickness as the winding is placed beneath the winding 22 and the whole covered by a further winding 21. A bore 13 is provided for an ejector pin (not shown). A method and machine for making the mould are also described (see Division B3).
