Abstract

1,242,862. Staircases. KWIKFORM Ltd. 2 May, 1969 [10 May, 1968], No. 22205/68. Heading E1B. A temporary staircase for use with scaffolding comprises a pair of side frames 10 each comprising spaced parallel tubes 14, 15 interconnected by a stepped member 16 welded to the member 14 at points 16a and welded to straps 17 which are in turn welded to the member 15, and a plurality of treads 13 supported by the members 16 and having slotted channels at opposite edges which interlock with the strap 17 to connect the pair of side frames together. A handrail 78 and bracing structure may be welded to each side frame. The staircase is supported on scaffolding by hooks 18 and feet 20, 21 at the ends of the side frames.
