Abstract
1,242,593. Proximity detector circuits. ING. C. OLIVETTI &c. S.p. A. Nov.7, 1968 [Dec.4, 1967], No.52872/68. Heading G1N. In the proximity detector circuit shown in Fig.1, the transistor T assumes oscillatory and non- oscillatory states depending on the value of the inductance L, to produce, after smoothing by capacitor Cu, two well defined D.C. voltage levels at the output M. A further Zener diode K may be connected at M to provide a zero voltage output signal for the non-oscillatory state. The inductance L may comprise an air or ferromagnetic cored winding and may be varied by the approach of a tooth on a toothed wheel, the circuit ceasing to oscillate when a tooth is presented.
