Abstract
964,664. Transistor switching circuits. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. July 10, 1963 [July 11, 1962], No. 27268/63. Heading H3T. An electronic switch comprises a reciprocally coupled, complementary pair of transistors having a transformer coupled to the base circuit. As shown, the PNP transistor T1 and the NPN transistor T2 are reciprocally coupled so that both transistors are either conductive or non-conductive. The circuit is triggered by pulses fed to winding W3 of a transformer U- formed by passing three single leads through a ferrite ring. The time constant of the transformer may be short so that the input pulses are differentiated, the transistors being turned on by the differentiated pulse corresponding to the leading edge of the input pulse and turned off by the differentiated pulse corresponding to the trailing edge. Alternatively, resistor Rp may be connected across winding W3 so as to increase the time constant and allow the transistors to be turned on by the first input pulse at winding W3 and turned off by the next input pulse of reverse polarity. Fig. 5 (not shown), relates to the use of the circuit to gate pulses fed in series with the power supply.
