Abstract

[Also in Divisions H1 and H2] A push button switch has a push-rod 5 with a bore 4 extending along its entire length and the rod projects through the bottom of the casing of the push-button switch to form a connection for a tube 6 so enabling the push button switch to form part of a fluid circuit whose condition is variable by the opening and closing of the end of the bore remote from the tube. The push rod is connected via the tube 16 to an internal combustion engine 18 and to a servomotor 22 with locking rod 24. Closing of thrust plate 23, e.g by the opening or closing of a car door, against rod 5, opens light, 25, circuit through contacts 8 and also causes the suction of the I.C. engine to lock or unlock a mechanism, e.g. a car seat, by means of rod 24 of the servomotor. The constriction ensures that the pivotable vehicle part must be closed before the negative pressure in tube 19 is sufficient to actuate the servomotor, whereas non-return valve 26 ensures that with the engine not operating the vehicle seat, for example, remains locked. The circuit for the light 25 is connected by contacts sleeves 12 with plug contacts 9 of the switch, connecting socket 11 is self-centring by means of a collar 10 and has a bore 15 for the projection of push rod 5.
