[Also in Group XXV] An arrangement for controlling the closing of doors or windows of a motor vehicle and therafter locking them in the closed position comprises an hydraulic system having a reservoir 14, pump 12, accumulator 13 and non-return valve 17 supplying a feed line 10 from which fluid passes under the control of members S1 S2... Sn to devices R1, R2 ... Rn which operate to close the doors and windows, the fluid being returned to the reservoir through pipe 11 and three-way cock 18. When the cock 18 is turned electrically by operating push-button 22 or cylinder lock 21 the return pipe is blocked and pressure builds up in the system to lock the devices R1, R2 . . . Rn in position. In an embodiment (Fig. 2) the shaft 28 of the three-way cock has a cam disc 29 secured to it, the cam disc being moved by a wedge 34 operated by magnets 37 and armature 36. In another embodiment (Figs. 7 and 8) two electromagnets 44, 44<SP>1</SP> are connected to switches 21<SP>1</SP> , 22<SP>1</SP> and, when energized, move a rocking member 40 which engages pins 78, 79 to operate the cock 65. The member 40 may also be rocked mechanically by a pin 72 fixed to a cylinder lock 71 to turn therewith. In a further modification (Fig. 10) the rocking member 40 may be operated by the end 86 of a crank 82 which is moved by a Bowden cable 80 operated by a knob on the instrument panel. In this embodiment the cylinder lock 71 instead of having a projection 72, has members 87 and 88 which engage a projection 40<SP>1</SP> attached to the rocking member. In further embodiments the luggage boot lock is adapted to operate the blocking member 18 on being locked but remain locked when the other locks of the system are released by another switch. The fuel tank filler cap or glove compartment lid may be included in the system to be locked by a pressure cylinder communicating with the return duct 11.
