Abstract

1,241,735. Rail vehicle bogies. COMPAGNIE DES ATELIERS ET FORGES DE LA LOIRE (St Chamond - Firminy - St Etienne - Jacob Holtzer). 2 Dec., 1969, No. 58830/69. Heading B7L. A rail vehicle bogie comprising a bolster 1, suspension springs 2 and wheels 3, pivotally mounts at the centre of the bolster a swingletree 8 having ends located in housings 11 of supports 10 for the vehicle body 4, with rubber blocks 9, 9a between the housings and the bolster. In a modification, Figs. 5 and 8, a bogie assembly comprising two of the bogies of Fig. 1 are connected by beams 12, 12a which form at their centre a support for the vehicle body and at their ends housings for the swingletrees. The centre body support consists of a transom 13 to which the body is bolted and which is pivoted at 16 to a rocker 17 extending between the beams 12, 12a and mounted on rubber blocks 18, 18a. In a further modification the transom 13 forms part of the vehicle body under frame and is located above the beams 12, 12a although being still pivoted to the rocker 17.
