Abstract

1,241,221. Piezoelectric transformers. CLEVITE CORP. 4 July, 1968 [7 July, 1967; 4 June, 1968], No. 31999/68. Heading H3U. [Also in Division H2] The ceramic body of the piezoelectric transformer disclosed in Specification 1,241,222 has the composition PbO (ZrO 2 ) 1-x (TiO 2 ) x wherein a portion of the lead is substituted by one or more alkaline earth metals, x is a number between 0 and 1, and either (1) a further portion of the PbO is substituted by an alkali metal oxide or (2) a portion of the TiO 2 and/or ZrO 2 is substituted by iron, nickel, cobalt or scandium oxide. The further portion (1) of the PbO may be substituted by K 2 O. The alkaline earth metal may be barium, strontium and/or calcium. A preferred composition is:
