Abstract
1,239,666. Incinerators. T. OKUMURA, and K. SUGANO. 11 April, 1969, No. 18603/69. Heading F4B. An incinerator comprises a combustion chamber 10 consisting of a main horizontal chamber 11 containing waste material to be incinerated and a vertical chamber 12 each chamber having a double walled structure. Combustion air from a supply pipe 30 is distributed via a header defined by a U-shaped partition 23 attached to the inner wall 21, to a series of spaced apart longitudinally extending air pre-heating chambers 28 from whence it is introduced into the chamber 11 through holes 29. The remaining space between the inner and outer walls 21, 22 not occupied by the air preheating chambers 28 is divided into chambers 27 filled with water for cooling the inner wall 21. The vertical chamber 12 is provided with a double walled construction similar to that described for chamber 11. Pre-heated air is introduced through holes 43 into the waste gas stream emerging from chamber 11 to react with this gas stream and to reduce the smoke content thereof leaving the incinerator through a stack 44.
