Abstract

1,239,275. Valves. KLOCKNER WERKE A.G. 18 Oct., 1968 [19 Oct., 1967], No. 57218/70. Divided out of 1,239,274. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a spherical closure member 10 contained inside a length of elastically flexible tube 3 where it can be tightly embraced by the internal tube surface when the external surface of the tube is compressed by fluid under pressure, the closure member being retained within a central part of the tube by the confronting ends of two tubular members 11, 12. The ends of the tube are sealed by 0-rings 2 between a cylindrical casing 1 and conical flanges 6, 7 on end covers 4, 5 held against the ends of the casing by tie-bolts (not shown). The parts of the valve may be made from synthetic plastics material.
