Abstract

1,237,350. Pouches. H. FOCKE. 14 June, 1968, No. 56344/70. Divided out of 1,235,861. Heading A4G. A bag formed of at least one layer of plastics sheet having a tearable strip 26, Fig. 2, of a different material from the sheet, e.g. paper, connected to opposed walls 12, 13 to form an air-tight closure of bag mouth 17, and a tearing filament 26 is adhered to the inside of the strip and extends to the inside where it may be pulled to tear the strip and open the bag. In the embodiment of Fig. 5, the strip 33a with inner filament 30 is connected to the outer faces of walls 12, 13 over the edge of wall 13, the walls being formed of paper sandwiched between plastics sheets. In a further embodiment the strip is formed by the sandwiched paper extending outside and beyond the edge 33a of the plastics sheeting. The wall extension 12a forms a wraparound closure flap and may have an adhesive tab.
