Abstract

1,236,708. Winding fabrics. TIMRON Inc. 29 July, 1969 [31 July, 1968], No. 38003/69. Heading B8R. A reel assembly 15 for supporting a pile fabric web 19 in such a manner that the layers of the fabric wound upon the reel are separated from each other comprises a central spacer bar 17 and two end frames 16; each end frame includes a pair of arms 20 which are of triangular shape and which are held together by a single pin (21) which projects into a bore (38) formed in the spacer bar (Fig. 5, not shown). Each arm 20 comprises a pair of hook-containing sections 23 and a stiffener section 22 ; and may be formed either from a flat strip of one-piece material, e.g. steel (Figs. 2 and 7, not shown), or from three pieces joined together (Figs. 11 to 13, not shown). The spacer bar 17 may be of square cross-section (Fig. 9, not shown), and the end frames may be movable outwardly of the spacer bar (Fig. 8, not shown) to tension the fabric. The assembly may comprise a mounting plate secured between the hook-containing sections, the plate including a plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs which slidably engage a paper spacer tube (Figs. 15 and 16, not shown).
