1,235,624. Polyvinyl alcohol compositions; aminoplast/polyvinyl alcohol emulsions. R. F. EISENBEISS, [trading as A. ROSE]. 5 Feb., 1969 [6 Feb., 1968], No. 6190/69. Headings C3P and C3R. [Also in Division G2] Emulsions of aminoplast resin in polyvinyl alcohol are produced by stirring a butanolic solution of the resin into an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. Specified aminoplast resins are urea or thiourea/formaldehyde resin which may be modified with an alkyd resin. These emulsions may be sensitized with a dichromate and used to produce printing stencil (see Division G2). The emulsion may contain a pigment such as TiO 2 .
