Abstract

1,235,458. Toothed gearing CAM GEARS Ltd. 9 March, 1970, No. 11075/70. Heading F2Q. A rack bar 6 is supported adjacent a pinion 1 by a resilient carrier member 7 having a recess 8 in which the rack bar is disposed, opposed side surfaces 8a, 8b having a slight interference fit with side faces 6b, 6c of the rack. A bearing plate 12 is located in a lower recess 11a in the carrier member 7 and it is engaged by a screw 13 the adjustment of which effects movement of the rack bar 6 towards and away from the pinion 1. The carrier member 7 may be made of rubber or resilient plastics material such as polyurethane.
