1,235,171. Opening fibrous material. MASCHINENFABRIK FRIEDRICH HAAS G.m.b.H. & CO. 29 May, 1968 [21 June, 1967], No. 25656/68. Heading D1N. Fibrous material, e.g. bleached cake, moving in direction 6 on conveyor feed belt 2 is opened by rotating pinned roller 8, positioned adjacent the discharge end of the belt 2 and mounted for displacement in direction 6 away from the belt. Upper and lower application rollers 13 and 5 are provided, roller 13 being mounted on pivotal cranked levers 14 for pivotal movement about bearing 15. Opening takes place at points 23 and 24 depending on whether roller 8 is rotating in direction 28 or 27.
