Abstract
1,233,924. Refrigerant evaporators; tubular heat exchange elements. DANFOSS A.S. 23 Aug., 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 40468/68. Headings F4H and F4S. An expansion valve is controlled by a temperature screw located at the outlet of an evaporator containing a thermally conducting gauze insert which occupies only a minor part of the evaporator flow cross-section and which lies against the wall of the evaporator passage. Wetting of the wall is promoted, thereby rendering the performance of the evaporator more predictable so that the chances of liquid refrigerant leaving the evaporator are reduced. The insert may have a longitudinally extending gap which allows the accumulation of excess liquid.
