Mixing air and gas.-An air and gas mixing device comprises a casing a with air inlets b con. trolled by a hit-and-miss grating c, and a co-axial gas inlet d supplied from a pipe h and chamber g and controlled by a conical plug e on a screwed rod f, the walls of the gas conduit and plug being of stream-line form. Liquid-fuel nozzles may be provided at the base of the chamber g to which air may be admitted, and the casing a may have a throttle valve m. A screen k prevents back-firing and the admission of dust.
