Abstract

123,351. Hecht, J. S., and Dowdell, A. T. Dec. 24, 1917. Rings.-A flexible piston ring of approximately L section may be formed from a flat ring of sheet metal or from a portion of a tube. In the former case the flat ring is gripped between two plates V, W, Fig. 6, and the outer flange is then spun over. When the ring is formed from a portion of a tube it is gripped between the periphery of a disk and an outer ring while the inner flange is spun over. Specifications 8571/15 and 123,328 are referred to.
