Abstract

327,589. Oubridge, W. A. April 19, 1929. Piston packing.- A split packing-ring having the curvature of an evolute of a cycloid, as described in Specification 135,249, is made of wire and is pressed cold to the required curvature in a die comprising inner and outer members and a ram. The ring blanks are made by bending wire on a mandrel, which may be circular, or approximately of the required curvature. Specification 327,213 is referred to.
