Abstract

1,233,255. Reciprocating pumps. BURGESS PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. Nov. 23, 1968, No.55686/68. Heading F1A. In an electrically actuated spray gun comprising a handle portion 1, housing the motor parts, and a front portion 7, housing a pump 10 and a liquid pumping circuit, the two portions are releasably secured together by a screw 22, and a projection 20 on the handle mating with a groove 21a the front portion thus facilitating dissembly for cleaning and servicing. A trigger 6 operates a switch 5 which activates the electromagnet 2 causing the armature to oscillate, which together with a return spring 12<SP>1</SP> induces reciprocable motion in the pump piston 10; liquid is thus pumped from a container 14 screwed to the first portion via a pipe 11 to a nozzle 8. A leaf-spring 4 bears against the armature and is adjustable by a screw 18.
