Abstract

1,231,374. Gas filter. INTENSIV-FILTER G.m.b.H. 30 May, 1969 [30 May, 1968], No. 27546/69. Heading BIT. Inward flow filter tubes 11 are suspended from a tube plate 17 and adjacent rows of tubes are separated by hanging partitions 16, a nozzle 18 on rollers 19 being reciprocated along the top of plate 17 to direct reverse flow air into the tubes of each row in turn. The filter may operate under suction or pressure, nozzle 18 being connected to atmosphere or supplied with air under pressure. Nozzle 18 is moved by chain 20 and has an extension pipe 21 projecting through seals (23) into a duct (22) along which the reverse flow air passes (Fig. 2, not shown). A screw 13 removes dust from the housing. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates how the upper end of a tube 11 is secured by internal clamping ring (26) into a mounting sleeve (24). Inlet 12 delivers crude gas along one side of the housing so that gas flows laterally into the compartments defined by partitions 16. Partitions 16 are of plastics and can deform sideways to allow tubes 11 to expand during cleaning. The reverse flow air could be pulsed.
