Abstract

1,231,331. Finishing yarns. MOULINAGE ET RETORDERIE DE CHAVANOZ. 20 March, 1969 [29 March, 1968], No. 14839/69. Heading D1F. Yarn is textured by continuously feeding it to a false-twist spindle, fixing the twist therein by passing it through a heating zone and untwisting it, the yarn passing along a sinuous path so that it undergoes at least two complete reversals of direction between the heating zone and the spindle. As shown, yarn F passes through a heater comprising a box 6 housing a curved, fine-bore tube 1 heated directly by an electric resistance, the box being movable about a pivot 7 and securable in a selected position. Yarn emerging from the heater travels over "diabolo" guides 2, 3 and 4, the positions of which may be adjusted to change the yam path (in which the tension varies) before running through the false-twist spindle 5.
