1,231,181. Igniting compositions. PAINSWESSEX Ltd. 6 May, 1968 [5 May, 1967], No. 21014/67. Heading C1D. [Also in Division F3] A composition for igniting a plastic propellant charge comprises powdered aluminium, magnesium, or aluminium-magnesium alloy, and/or boron; an oxidant comprising ammonium perchlorate, potassium perchlorate, potassium nitrate, strontium nitrate or barium nitrate; and a binder which may react exothermically with the oxidant, e.g., a polyurethane or a polysulphide, or a resin binder such as cashew nutshell resin, resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, or shellac mixed with triethyl cellulose.
