Abstract

1,229,499. Slings for lifting loads. P. DAVENPORT Ltd. 26 Jan., 1970 [25 Oct., 1968], No. 50809/68. Heading B8H. A cargo sling, Fig. 3, is made by splicing one or more strands of rope into an endless loop and braiding continuous layers b, Fig. 4, over the core a, bending the sling into two parallel lengths and forming a lifting loop at each end. Eyelets may or may not be provided in the end loops. The points at which the braiding process starts and finishes are staggered to even out the thickness of the sling.
