Abstract

1,162,658. Rope eyes. SOC. RHODIACETA. 4 Sept., 1967 [20 Sept., 1966], No. 40358/67. Heading D1T. To form an eye in a rope composed of parallel textile filaments within an outer envelope 1, a first portion of the envelope is removed from one end and the resulting exposed filaments divided into a plurality of bundles 4. A second portion of the envelope, spaced from the first portion, is also removed and the resulting exposed filaments divided into bundles 5. The bundles 4 are then 'braided with the bundles 5. The braided bundles 4, 5 may be covered with a lacing or vulcanized rubber strip.
