1,229,008. Supplying fuel to fluidized beds; burners. FULLER CO. 6 Dec., 1968 [1 Feb., 1968], No. 58087/68. Headings F4B and F4T. Fuel is discharged into a fluidized bed through a nozzle 52 having a cap 53 with slots 55 extending over part of the top and side of the cap so that fuel is dispersed horizontally and upwardly. The nozzle 52 passes through a countersunk bore 57 so that the cap 53 is at the level of the upper surface of the hearth 20, and air for combustion flows through the bore 57 as well as through bores 23. The air flow and gas flow through the bore 57 and nozzle 52 prevent overheating.
