Abstract

In a straight-bar machine in which the yarn guides are frictionally coupled to the tie bar 8 and their exact limit set by stops 11, adjustment of the stops actuates a drive which resets the stroke of the draw lever 1. As the stops are set along screw thread 12 follower lever 15 is pivoted by a fixed cam 14 and traverses a cam block 18. Switches 25, 26 are thereby actuated and the drive 13 for screw 7 engaged. Axial movement of the nut 6, which is connected by a flexible member 24 to the switches draws them along until they reengage block 18. In an alternative embodiment the lever 15 is pivoted at a fixed point and engages a cam driven by the screw 12. The switch block is driven by the draw lever drive. In a modification the cam is mounted on the nut and rotated by a fixed rack. The block moves with the nut but is displaced relative to it by the cam.
