Abstract

1392556 Controllable amplitude traverse mechanism ATELIERS ROANNAIS DE CONSTRUCTIONS TEXTILES 23 Aug 1972 [27 Sept 1971] 39164/72 Heading D1J [Also in Division F2] A traverse mechanism for a winding machine comprises a reciprocatable carriage 1 having a follower 8 which engages an inclinable bar 12 which causes the follower 8 to reciprocate across the carriage 1 during movement of the same. The follower is connected by a flexible belt 3, which passes around at least three pulleys 2, to a yarn guide 6 arranged to reciprocate on the carriage 1 parallel to its motion. Hence by suitably inclining the bar 12 the relative traverse of the guide 6 is subtracted from or added to the traverse of the carriage. The angle of the bar 12 may be altered by a package size monitor or by a timing device. The belt 3 may be tensioned by means of one of the pulleys 2.
