Abstract

1,227,055. False twisting. TEIJIN Ltd. 26 March, 1969 [27 March, 1968; 22 May, 1968], No. 15944/69. Heading DID. [Also in Division F2] A false twisting device wherein a plurality of false twist tube 210 are driven by belt(s) 205, 206 comprises air jets 302 positioned to blow air against the belt(s) 206 on the side remote from the twist tubes 210. As shown the twist tubes 210 are driven by a pair of belts 205, 206 running in opposite directions. Compressed air is fed to one or both belts via plenum 309 and channels 302 and forms an air cushion between the belt(s) 205, 206 and the air jets. Axial thrust of yarn on the twist tubes 210 can be resisted by the twist tube supports (as shown) or by flanges on the twist tubes engaging co-operating flanges on the belt, (Fig. 6).
