In a pneumatic break spinning device the maximum radius of the spinning chamber 2 is arranged to be equal to or less than the staple length of the fibres for which the device is designed for cotton the radius is arranged to be not less than half the staple length and for other fibres the minimum radius is one third the staple length. A deflector 5 is provided for the fibres being fed into the chamber.
