Abstract

1,226,573. Power plant. SIEMENS A.G. March 18, 1968 [March 18, 1967], No.13050/68. Heading F1Q. The invention relates to an installation including a steam and/or gas generator 1 and a prime mover 3 which receives steam and/or gas from the generator. The installation includes means 12 which serves for receiving an input signal 13 representing a desired new value of the output from the installation and which issues an output signal which is used to control the generator and the prime mover, the means being arranged to receive further signals representing monitored measurement values indicating the operating state of the generator and the prime mover. Acount is taken of the recent history of the values and the operating conditions in the generator and prime mover which are to be expected if the output changes in accordance with the input signal, to ensure that the output signal is such that the output of the installation changes towards the new value as much as is allowable and as rapidly as is allowable without danger of damaging the generator or prime mover. The invention is shown as applied to a steam turbine installation the prime mover 3 being a stean turbine. An indicator 56 is provided which visibly indicates the instantaneous output of the installation and may also indicate the cause of.the output signal representing an output different from that represented by the input signal.
