Abstract
1,224,722. Shaving blade dispenser. GILLETTE CO. 13 Jan., 1969 [15 Jan., 1968], No. 1809/69. Heading B8P. A shaving blade dispenser 10 which is in combination with a used blade compartment 12 includes a reciprocal pusher 30 for feeding the topmost blade of a stack 21 through a slot 25 into an associated razor opened by a key 38 and cams 40, 42; the dispenser and compartment are locked together by means of a lug 78, Fig. 4, on the compartment which is placed over a front lip 29, Fig. 1, of the dispenser whereupon the two parts are pivotally brought together until a latch 52, Fig. 9, on the inner rear wall of the component lockingly engages a latch window 50, Fig. 3, in the rear face of a plug 26 of the dispenser. The plug, which is frictionally held in the dispenser, engages the blades and includes a bevelled front edge 49 which urges them towards the side wall 22; a slot 56 is provided for used blades, together with a blade entrance ramp 57. On entering the compartment a used blade engages the bottom wall 16 of the dispenser and is caused to flex to obviate accidental removal. The compartment includes a stop 90 preventing inward movement of the ramp, a blade stop 92 and blade support ribs 96, 98. Reciprocal movement of the pusher is limited by a recess in the side wall of the dispenser against the end walls of which a finger of the pusher engages.
