Abstract

1,224,103. Ventilators. H. NESS. 18 June, 1969 [21 June, 1968], No. 30854/69. Heading F4V. A " slot vent " for mounting in the top or bottom of a door or window frame comprises a housing 1, a flap 2 and a handle 3, the flap pivoting about a bead 8 and there being a groove (12, Fig. 2) in the side of the handle which engages an edge of the opening in the housing to retain the flap in its closed position. Alternatively, a catch (14, Fig. 2) may be provided to engage the edge of the flap in its closed position. The members of the ventilator may be made of extruded aluminium or a plastics material. The centre of gravity of flap and handle is so positioned that when released the flap drops to its open position.
