Abstract

The shutters fit over house windows to give protection against sun and weather. They comprise two leaves, their hinges turning about a pin on a frame. This frame, rectangular in shape, fits inside the window opening, the hinges enable the shutters to open outwards, each leaf lying flat against the wall. The frame also has horizontal hinges, mounted in the upper sides of the window frame opening. These allows the complete frame and shutter to move outwards at the bottom and open upwards, giving ventilation and still providing weather protection. Stays hold the frame open and permit locking when closed.
