Abstract

1,223,537. Tensioning; shearing. SCHLOEMANN A.G. 6 Jan., 1970 [25 Jan., 1969], No. 673/70. Headings B3E and B3W. An hydraulic section-stretching machine with a cylinder 5 and piston 4 co-operating with a stretching grip 2 and with a longitudinally movable but arrestable countergrip 7, the clamping jaws 13, 22 of the countergrip being operative perpendicularly, is characterized in that the countergrip is provided both with a continuous C-shaped aperture 10 accommodating the stretch material and facing the stretching grip and also with a C-shaped aperture 11 facing perpendicular thereto and a severing device 23 located immediately adjacent to the clamping jaws of the counter-grip. The stretching grip slides together with an untwisting means 3 along the machine frame 1. The countergrip 7 is mounted on wheels 8 and can be clamped by means 9. The upper clamping jaw 13 is actuated by a pressure cylinder 14 and the lower clamping jaws 22 is fixed to the underside of the C-shaped aperture 10 in the countergrip. Adjacent the cylinder 14 is another pressure cylinder 24 the piston of which operates the upper and lower blades 25, 26, respectively, of the shearing device 23.
