Abstract
1,223,536. Washing machine mountings. FEDDERS CORP. 31 Dec., 1969 [19 Feb., 1969], No. 63533/69. Heading D1A. [Also in Division F2] In a bearing assembly a first bearing surface has a lining comprising P.T.F.E. and a second bearing surfaces mates with the lining and is suitably roughened so as to become coated with P.T.F.E. from said lining. The latter may contain from 70 to 80 per cent of P.T.F.E. 20 to 30 per cent of carbon and 1 per cent of a compatible colour identifier. The first bearing surface may be in the form of a truncated hemisphere and the second bearing surface may have a hemispherical shape. A resilient pad may be positioned between the first bearing surface and the lining. The bearing assembly may be mounted in a washing machine and may comprise a truncated hemisphericalshaped position 31 of a base 8, a resilient pad 32, a lining 33 of 'P.T.F.E. &c., a reinforcement plate 34, and a hemispherical surface which is formed in an upper suspension housing 20 of the washing machine and which mates with the P.T.F.E. &c liner 33.
