Abstract

793,880. Turntables for furniture. GREENMAN, C. April 13, 1956 [Sept. 9, 1955], No. 25869/55. Class 52(3) A turntable for cabinets &c. has upper and lower plates 1, 2 with annular grooves 3 formed by pressing inner and outer ribs 5, 6 connected by an arcuate bridge portion 7 of which the re-entrant face forms the groove in which run balls spaced apart by a floating locating ring 14 with apertures for the balls. The plates have dished centre portions 9, 10 and a cupped retaining member 11 passing through an aperture in part 10 has a flange 12 and is non-rotatively secured to plate 1 by a rivet 13, there being some friction between member 11 and plate 2 opposing rotation. A friction washer may be provided between plate 2 and flange 12.
