Abstract

1,223,149. Platen presses. SOUTHERN TEXTILE MACHINERY CO. Inc. 29 May, 1968 [29 May, 1967], No. 25666/68. Heading B6C. [Also in Division B8] In apparatus for printing and labelling (Division B8) flat articles the printing mechanism comprises a vertically reciprocating stamp 84 which can be adjustably positioned along rods 61, 62 and also angularly by clamp 72. The stamp is reciprocated by cam means 104, 106 in timed relationship with the positioning of an article on a conveyer moved intermittently and the mechanism incorporates an inking pad 110 which is brought into contact with the stamp 84 when the latter is in its raised position by cam and follower mechanism 114 and 130 and 118 and 134.
