Screw propellers.-In an aeroplane propeller, the blades are journaled in radial sleeves 3, 4 carried by a cone-shaped bearing member 2 secured at its apex to the propeller shaft 1. A sliding sleeve 9 on the shaft 1, and operated by the lever 15, has tangential racks which gear with corresponding pinions 7, 8 on the blades 5, 6.
