Abstract
1,222,858. Baker's ovens. JOY MFG. CO. 12 Dec., 1968, No. 59197/68. Heading A2A. [Also in Division F4] A tunnel oven, for use particularly as a baking oven, comprises an endless conveyer 32 passing through said oven, a plurality of longitudinally spaced gas burners 42 disposed at least below said conveyer, duct means 50 having openings (51, Fig. 3) controlled by dampers 52 communicating with the combustion chamber 26 of the oven, suction for means cooperable with said duct, means for discharging combustion gases from said combustion chamber, and conduits 62 spaced longitudinally of said oven and below the level of the gas burners 42 for admitting atmospheric air into the oven to maintain essentially uniform pressure therein. In other embodiments, the oven can include upper burners lying in planes disposed equidistant between successive pairs of said lower burners (see Fig. 12, not shown), or have the exhaust duct means disposed in the upper section of the oven above the conveyer (see Fig. 14).
