Abstract

1,221,292. Icing cakes. G. T. CULPITT & SON Ltd. 16 Feb., 1968 [4 Feb., 1967], No. 5484/67. Heading A2A. [Also in Division B5] A cake is iced by casting the icing in a flexible mould apertured with moisture evaporation holes to a density of not less than 8 holes per square inch, sticking the icing to a cake by a layer of edible adhesive and stripping the mould from the icing. The mould is formed from transparent or translucent plastics material, of thickness about 5 thousands of an inch, preferably by vacuum or blow moulding, and may contain recesses into which cake decorations can be placed.
