Abstract

1,221,081. Foundations for tanks. A.P.V. CO. Ltd. 27 March, 1969 [8 April, 1968], No. 16819/68. Heading E1T. A foundation for a storage tank is formed from an assembly comprising a box plate 1, mild-steel T-sections 2, a skirt 3 and T-members 4 which are welded together, laid on a prepared concrete base and filled with an aggregate 10 of concrete and vermiculite. Sections 6 of the tank bottom having a skirt portion are then welded in place together with inner and outer walls 7, 8 having an insulation layer 9 therebetween.
