Abstract

1,017,117. Methods of erecting tanks. CHIYODA KAKO KENSETSU KABUSHIKI KAISHA. April 29, 1964 [March 17, 1964], No. 17873/64. Heading EIT. A method of erecting a tank on ground 10 provided with sand-filled drain holes 11 consists of the steps of providing a sand banking 2, mounting the shell 5 of the tank on bearing plates carried by footings 3, attaching a temporary base 6 to the tank, filling same with water to compact the ground, removing the base 6, re-levelling as necessary and then adding a permanent base member thereto. The tank may be made of reinforced plastic, concrete or aluminium and both base members consist of a series of plates welded to one another and to the plates 4. The temporary base is inspected by a leakage detector having an alarm prior to the tank being filled through a valve 8.
