Abstract

1,221,036. Electric watches. TIMEX CORP. Aug.19, 1969 [Sept.11, 1968], No.41427/69. Heading G3T. An electric watch comprises a balance wheel 10 carrying a contact pin 17 and a contact assembly 20 including a body member 24 of insulative material in which the centre portion 22 of a terminal spring 19 is embedded, one end 21 of the spring being adapted to contact a terminal of a battery 18 and the other end 23 of the spring being fastened to a contact spring 35, the free end 36 of which is adapted to intermittently touch the contact pin. The contact assembly is secured to a frame plate 11 by a screw 31 and a coil 13 is glued to an arm 15 of the balance wheel, one end of the coil being connected to the pin 17 whilst the other end is connected to a hairspring (not shown). A jewel 16 is mounted on a roller 30 and the body member 24, which is preferably made of nylon is provided with locating pins 25, 26 which fit in holes in a bridge (not shown) or the frame 11.
